The organizers of the Montréal Wood Convention invite hardwood manufacturers to participate in a seminar to be held on Thursday, March 21st, starting at 10:30 am in the room Centre-Ville at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel. Two high-level speakers will discuss topics of the hour.

Tom De Ruyck is an expert in understanding and collaboration between businesses and consumers in a changing world. Mr. De Ruyck is Managing Partner at InSites Consulting, one of the world’s most innovative marketing consulting and consumer research firms. He is responsible for innovation and advises global brands such as IKEA and Heineken. He is also a professor in business schools in Europe, author of several books and articles, influential blogger and tweeter (@tomderuyck). The subject of his conference is how to go from traditional consumer marketing to paying more attention to the people themselves.
Delton Alderman holds a Ph.D. in Wood Science and Forest Products, with a focus on forest product marketing, from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and the State University of Blacksburg, Virginia. Mr. Alderman is the US Forest Service’s expert on US and international housing markets. His other areas of work include wood marketing in cities, consumer perception of wood products, marketing strategies and tactics; and the transfer of personalized technology. He will talk about the importance of hardwoods in the construction industry.
