About :

QWEB is partnering with the Quebec Delegation in Chicago to sponsor the first version of a Midwest mission and forum between off-site wood manufacturing industry leaders in U.S. communities experiencing high-growth regional development dynamics, with a parallel need for housing of different scales and values, and a desire to grow their own construction industry for greater productivity.

The learning objectives of this meeting are aimed at architects, developers and smart growth planning advocates in the Central Ohio business community. Among other things, an economist's perspective on why Central Ohio's economic fundamentals will be presented. Hard lessons learned from Silicon Valley and New England biotech markets will also be presented as an opportunity to improve planning strategies in this market.  Logistics experts will also explain why the region has potential for broader economic activity in the construction value chain, and Denison Edge student projects will be showcased. Leaders and business owners from the province of Quebec in the fields of mass timber, industrialized housing construction and architectural glulam will be on hand to discuss their capabilities with attendees.  A catered lunch will be provided.

The event takes place on Wednesday, February 7, at the Denison Edge, 300 Marconi Blvd #200, Columbus, just steps from the downtown Convention Center and Arena District. The following day, the event will travel to Detroit for further meetings with local companies.
