QWEB welcomes Mark Wilkinson to its team as Director of the England overseas office, based in Milton Keynes, with a registered office in Salisbury. With his own consulting firm, and over 20 years of experience working for a variety of leading wood companies, Mr. Wilkinson has a strong background in testing and certification, along with manufacturing, business development and market analysis, primarily in the construction and built environment sectors. As a consultant he has worked with product manufacturers and certification bodies, carrying out audits, site assessments, internal systems development and conducted market research. Mr. Wilkinson has extensive knowledge of testing, inspection and certification in the wood products and construction sector as well as the legislative requirements in England and Europe. He has served on various committees such as the Technical Board of EOTA (European Organization for Technical Assessments), the UK Group of Notified Bodies, and the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products, etc. He has also developed strategic partnerships with other organizations including the Canadian Lumber Standards Accreditation Board (CLSAB), Timber Research And Development Association (TRADA), the Steel Construction Institute and Oxford Brookes University.
In his new role, Mark Wilkinson will support QWEB members’ market access and export promotion initiatives. This will include assisting in the business development activities in Europe. He will accompany members to networking activities to maintain business relations between Quebec manufacturers and European buyers, thus promoting export opportunities.
